Email a noticeWhat to include in a formal notice
A notice intended to comply with Section 512(c)(3) of the U.S. Copyright Act should substantially include all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act for the owner.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed. For multiple works on one site, you may provide a representative list.
- Identification of the material you want reviewed, including each exact 1600.lol URL and enough detail for us to locate it.
- Your name and contact information, including an email address and any other information reasonably sufficient for us to contact you.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the complained-of use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the owner of the allegedly infringed right.
How reports are reviewed
We review reports in good faith and may ask for missing information. Where appropriate, we may remove or disable access to identified material while the concern is evaluated. Receiving a report does not by itself establish infringement, ownership, or an obligation to remove material.
We may share a notice and the sender's contact information with an affected contributor, our hosting provider, professional advisers, or others involved in resolving the report. Do not include passwords, payment details, or unrelated sensitive information.
Mistakes and counter-notices
If material connected to you was removed or disabled and you believe that happened because of a mistake or misidentification, contact the same email address. A formal counter-notice has additional legal requirements, including identification of the removed material and its former location, a signature, contact details, a statement under penalty of perjury, and consent to the applicable U.S. federal-court jurisdiction and service of process.
A counter-notice is a legal filing, not a general appeal. Consider obtaining advice from a qualified lawyer before submitting one.

You do not need to send a formal DMCA notice to ask us to review a question or other page. Email hi@1600.lol with the URL and a concise explanation of the issue. We will review the request under the applicable facts and policies.
